Total weight gain: Gained almost 1/2 a pound this week- So total gain is 1.5 pounds.
How big is baby?: According to BabyCenter, the baby is about the size of a of a medium shrimp, is almost 3 inches long and weighs nearly an ounce.
Maternity clothes?: Not Yet... They are hanging in the closet waiting for me to "pop"
Sleep?: Been pretty decent... taking lots of naps during the day still!
Best moment this week?: Took a trip to USA Baby and Babies R Us to start looking at cribs!
Food cravings?: Starting to crave the sweet stuff again- chocolate chip pancakes, peanut butter M&Ms etc. Guess this is where the 2nd trimester weight gain comes from, lol!
Any Baby Movement?: None yet!
Any Labor signs?: No Way!
Belly button in or out?: In.
What I miss: Sushi!
What I'm looking forward to: Seeing the Jellybean at our 13 week check-up this week!
Personal Milestone: Starting to feel my baby belly grow! Kind of like you've done too many crunches, not really pain but twinges of stretches.. Very cool!
Baby Milestone: Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries.
Me and the Jellybean at 13 Weeks- Maybe a bump starting to pop?
The Jellybean looked great and was kicking and stretching and then doing karate chops near his/her face (like in the pic below)! Val commented that it looked like the Jellybean had my cute upturned nose too!
Another reason I wanted to be sure to get an u/s image at 13 weeks was because I wanted to check it against the "Nub Theory" as the most ideal timeline for this gender check is between 12-14 weeks. For more information on early gender determination based on the location of the nub check out the very bottom of this link:
The theory says that if the nub is parallel to the spine like this then the assumption is GIRL and when I asked the tech she said she was 80% sure it was a girl (but not to paint the nursery yet)!
